The story of Shikhara

“The quiet strength of rising higher.”

Shikhara means the summit — the peak a mountain rises to, the spire that crowns a temple. These forms climb gently from a wide base to a fine point, carrying the eye upward the way a skyline does.

Hand-shaped from acacia, their surfaces show the full depth of the grain as it sweeps toward the top. Grouped together they become a small range of peaks, each a slightly different height.

Shikhara speaks of aspiration and growth, and brings warmth, balance and a sense of elevation to any space.

I

The material

Acacia wood, shaped by hand. Each form is carved, sanded and finished so the grain follows the line of the piece.

II

Its character

Grain, tone and texture vary from piece to piece, so yours will differ slightly from the photographs. These variations are not flaws — they make it yours alone.

III

Care

Made for dried and preserved botanicals only. Keep away from water, moisture and direct heat. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth.

How to style Shikhara

Fill them with fine, upright stems — dried gypsophila, lunaria or slender grasses — so the arrangement continues the upward line. Group the forms in a loose triangle, the tallest at the back.
